How we researched this
Last checked: 2026-10-30.
Sources reviewed: official property website, dining and events directories, Tripadvisor reviews, Google-based aggregator listings, review aggregator pages, an employer company profile, a restaurant directory listing and gambling venue directories.
No on-site visit, no staff or management interview, no independent verification of current menu, prices or bottle shop stock, and no retrieval of the venue’s own Google Business Profile.
Namesake alert: The Seaview Hotel on the Isle of Wight, England and the Seaview Hotel in Galloway, New Jersey are unrelated to this venue, so their hours and menus are excluded. A dining page on a separate domain lists a US reservations line under a 305 area code and does not describe the Townsville venue.
Seaview Hotel Townsville menu and food hours
Online Dining describes the food as classic Australian pub fare, with popular dishes including salads, burgers, steak, pizza and pasta. The signature menu noted on Wanderlog adds wood-fired pizzas, pub classics and schnitzels.
- Lunch: 11:30am to 2:30pm daily (Online Dining)
- Dinner: 5:30pm to 9:00pm daily (Online Dining)
- Pizza: Friday to Sunday, between lunch and dinner service (Online Dining)
General venue hours conflict across listings. PokiesFindr lists 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM seven days a week, while LocalPokies lists midnight closing on Monday to Thursday, 1am on Friday and Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday. These are venue-wide schedules, so they do not settle when the kitchen stops serving.
One Tripadvisor attraction review from November 2022 reports the kitchen was closed at 9:30pm, so a late meal may not be available. Only one review makes this point.
No current full food menu was retrieved from the venue’s official website, so the dish list above comes from directory descriptions rather than the venue’s own menu.
Seaview Hotel Townsville bottle shop
- Liquor Stax Drive Thru: 10AM to midnight, Monday to Sunday (official site)
- City Arcade bottle shop: Monday to Friday 10AM to 9PM, Saturday 10AM to 5:45PM, Sunday 10AM to 6PM (official site)
The official page was cached on 29 March 2021, so these hours need a check. SEEK’s company profile names a Liquor Barn, a Drive Thru Bottle Shop and City Point Cellars instead, so outlet names differ between sources.
What to watch: Food and bottle shop hours differ by source, so ask the venue which kitchen and retail times apply on the day you visit.
Seaview Hotel Townsville menu specials
The only named special in the retrieved sources is a Battered Flathead listed at $14.95 on AGFG, a restaurant directory that lists the venue at 56 The Strand with three reviews.
- The listing is undated, so it may not reflect the current menu.
- One reviewer described the flathead as overcooked and dry.
No other priced special, weekly special or specials board appeared in the retrieved material.
The catch: The $14.95 figure comes from a low-confidence directory listing, so confirm any special with the venue before planning around it.
Seaview Hotel Townsville City prices
No current price list for main dishes was retrieved from the official site or any listing, so this article cannot give a verified cost per meal.
Price picture: Verified price list: none. Only price point: $14.95 for a Battered Flathead special (AGFG, undated, low confidence). Price checks should be made against the venue’s current listing.
The menu descriptions cover salads, burgers, steak, pizza, pasta and schnitzels, but none of the descriptions retrieved attach prices to these dishes.
The bottom line: Budget checks depend on the venue’s own menu, which was not retrieved, so treat any cost estimate as unconfirmed.
Seaview Hotel Townsville reviews
Tripadvisor’s restaurant listing shows 3.4 of 5 from 422 reviews, while its attraction listing shows 3.2 of 5 from 47 reviews and ranks the venue #7 of 10 Nightlife venues in Townsville. Aggregators report higher scores: Evendo shows 4.0 of 5 from 1,993 Google reviews, and Wanderlog shows 3.9 from 2,319 Google reviews.
Food quality is the most frequently mentioned complaint in the reviews retrieved from Tripadvisor, MapQuest and Wanderlog. MapQuest aggregates the venue at 3.0 and includes a 14 September 2024 review titled “Worst Food Ever.”

Mark S, Google reviewer
“This place probably has some of the best views in Townsville and would be the perfect spot for a catch up with friends — unfortunately it also comes with some of the worst food I’ve experienced.”
Olivia D, Google reviewer
“The Seaview ‘did the trick’ — sizeable, tasty Caesar salads with coconut prawns, well priced and quick to be served.”

Seaview Hotel Townsville photos
No photo set was retrieved for this review. Wanderlog reports a renovation in early 2022 that added contemporary interiors and a beer garden with potted ferns and shade, which is the closest visual description in the sources.
The trade-off: Praise for the views and atmosphere sits alongside repeated food complaints, so the platform averages hide a split experience.
Short version: Ratings run from 3.2 to 4.0 depending on the platform, and food complaints recur across several reviews.
Best for: three visitor types
- Lunch diners checking the bistro window of 11:30am to 2:30pm, which Online Dining lists daily.
- Live music listeners looking at Friday to Sunday sessions on Eventfinda. One Wanderlog reviewer also mentions live music alongside a quiet drink overlooking the view.
- Bottle shop buyers checking the Liquor Stax Drive Thru hours, noting that the official page dates from 2021.
